So another Paleo Challenge has come to an end.

How do you feel? What results did you see? Is this something you are going to continue?

    I feel great…minus my cold/cough I have going on πŸ˜‰ This challenge was the first time I have gained inches in almost all areas but feel better and look better in my pictures. I made huge strength gains and I have finally started to get muscle fatigue faster than I get winded in wods.
    I am definitely going to continue paleo. Since I started eating paleo about a year ago, I have lost literally 1/2 of my size. I went from a size 16-18 depending on the brand of pants to a size 8-10. My stomach problems have also been relieved since eating paleo regularly. I can’t say enough how much crossfit and paleo have changed my life.

    Doing this challenge made me realize that the Paleo Lifestyle is the lifestyle for me. After doing the LuRong challenge I was in the best shape of my life, then the holidays came, (along with other celebrations) and I did not only gain the little weight I lost, but my body felt awful.
    I’m glad I joined this challenge, it was what I needed to get back on track. In these 30 days I didn’t loose any weight but I can feel the difference in the way my clothes fit and in my performance at the gym. I’m definitely will continue and I will be strong and will not allow myself to fall out of the wagon. πŸ™‚

    Loved the challenge! Saw a big difference in my wods and overall well-being. I felt so much better eating clean. I am grateful for the knowledge this challenge has provided and look forward to incorporating paleo into my everyday lifestyle, not just another fad diet!

    I feel better that I did after the holidays!! I was getting very frustrated with myself for not getting myself back on Paleo. I already knew how much better I felt on it, and how quickly the bloat comes back when I have two cheat meals in a row! I feel more energy in my WOD’s that I was missing after the new year. I found more recipes and discovered brussel sprouts and they make me happy. I like this lifestyle, it makes sense, it isn’t just another diet, it is the preferred diet that anyone should eat. I love it, I want my husband to get on it, and I plan to have my kids on it when the time comes. I don’t want them to have weight issues like me, stomach issues like me, thyroid issues like their dad…. I want my family to be healthy!!

    The paleo challenge has made a much bigger impact on my life than I would have ever predicted. Originally signing up for it was really just an attempt to get out of a funk after a recent breakup ( if I ended getting what I like to call “vengence hot” in the process, so be it). What I didn’t expect was the overwhelming response my body would have to no longer eating like a 12 year old whose parents were gone for the night. My allergies and acid reflux are better than they have been in years. I haven’t had a life altering hangover in over a month (thank you ciders vs Jim Beam). And of course,10 pounds leaner with an enthusiasm and optimism I had previously lost along the way, I think its safe to say the “funk” has gotten its ass kicked.

    My relationship with paleo began with he Lurong challenge, I was floored by how quickly my body began to change. I have been on one diet or another for what feels like my entire adult life and I have NEVER come across a way of eating more perfect than paleo, not to say I’m always “perfect” at it, but the changes that happen are so quick and so rewarding its impossible to not make it part of my lifestyle. My motivation has never been to be the fasted WODer or complete the most reps or to PR on all the major lifts, for me it has been about setting a good example for my children and having a lean strong body. Mission accomplished! I am STILL amazed when I look in a mirror and see muscles in my arms…..this has always been an area that I wanted to tone and define. Paleo and crossfit has given me the tools to obtain this goal. I can’t speak highly enough of reckless and the amazing coaches and members. You have all made it possible for me to achieve a goal I have been chasing my whole life. For me paleo is a lifestyle that I’m happy to have found. Thank you for all the encouraging posts in the Facebook group, I love seeing ppls recipes and fitness acomplishments.

    I did not do the Lurong challenge, but as I watched everyone at Reckless change/grow stronger/not hate Paleo I decided to give it a try. Coming in to this challenge, I had been eating mostly Paleo for a few months (minus Christmas) and found that it wasn’t that difficult, it just took more prep work.

    The big difference was that this challenge really made me THINK about what I was eating and doing and what I expected my body to do in return. I am floored at how much I improved my work out from the beginning to the end, and how easy it was to eat “clean” when I had no other choice. Instead of thinking that one of something sugary wouldn’t be a big deal, it was just an automatic no (sometimes easy, sometimes hard, but not something to debate).

    Although I let myself eat what I wanted this weekend (and felt junky for it) I have my Paleo meals ready to go for the rest of the week and plan to continue eating this way as long as I keep feeling as good as I feel…with a few necessary cheats thrown in πŸ™‚

    This paleo challenge has been amazing for me. After doing Lu Rong came the holidays and along with the holidays came gaining back a few pounds that I had lost. In the 30 days I have take off 7 more pounds. What is so crazy to me is that I lost 7 pounds but not too many inches. I actually gained 3/4 inches in my arms! Its crazy to me that I would be happy about that but I am. I cant say enough good things about the paleo/crossfit combo. Eating paleo while doing crossfit I believe can change anyones body and attitude about their body and the food they consume. Thanks so much Coach Britt for putting this together for all of us. You have no idea how much we appreciate you for it!!! I loved that it was a partner challenge so I had someone to help keep tabs on me. I TOTALLY CAN’T WAIT FOR THE NEXT CHALLENGE!!

    I started Paleo dieting right after Thanksgiving this past Fall for the first time ever in my life. (Aproximately 15 weeks ago). I have tried and used many diet plans, work out regiments and other physically challenging things over time. I have been an athlete my whole life. I play Ice Hockey every week for crying out loud!

    However, like many, I was a skeptic when it came to Paleo in the beginning. Sarah used to tell me about it and say “how much I would love this diet and how I would see such outstanding results and quick results at that.” I was also a skeptic in small ways about joining CrossFit in the beginning, which I started the week after I began Paleo dieting.

    Since then I have learned to know and absolutely LOVE both Paleo and CrossFit. I couldn’t be more excited about both! I have lost over 20 pounds since starting Paleo (10 pounds since this most recent challenge stared) in about 15 weeks working at it. I have gained a ton of muscle, trimmed body fat, and gained a ton of strength/lifting weight. I have PRed in so many things since starting CrossFit and in doing the Paleo Diet. I have gained inches in my arms, chest, and thighs just in the past 30 days of this challenge. It has just been outstanding!

    Seeing and living personal achievements like I have through all this has motivated me, made my attitude on life and other things better, pushed me to work harder, and overall improved each aspect of my life in some way, shape, or form!

    I can’t wait to see what the future holds. Like I said this has only been about 15 weeks for CrossFit and Paleo for me. I think to myself, all the time, what is a year from now going to be like at this rate? What will 2 or 3 years be like? I am 36 years old. I can’t say that I am in the best shape I have ever been because its all relative, but I can say that I am working toward getting to that point and maybe beyond and I can say without hesitation that it is going to happen with Paleo and definitely CrossFit!!

    Crossfit has been a game changer for me. I’ve always enjoyed working out and this is so different than anything I’ve ever tried. I love the intensity and variety of all the workouts. Also, it is nice how everything/ every move can be scaled to your ability level. I started crossfit 8 weeks after having a baby and had not ran, lifted, boxed, nothing for over 9 months so my confidence was a little low on what I would be able to do. Everyone was so motivating that after just a few weeks I was ready to take on this whole new challenge called crossfit. I am now addicted to it and don’t think I can go back to my running obsession or any other workout for that matter πŸ™‚

    Paleo was a bit harder for me to buy into. I love my sweets and diets don’t work well for me. But, once I was able to get my sugar fix from fruits, dark chocolate, and coconut milk creamers I was set! It was nice to build this into our lifestyle because Adam and I already eat a lot of organic food and home cooked meals so this was another plus. I have already found myself saying no to non-paleo foods at my moms house even after the challenge has been over so I think I’m going to stick with it!

    Crossfit and Paleo go hand in hand! Without Paleo I don’t think I would have lost the weight I have lost and made the huge strength gains that I did. I definitely don’t think I would have been prepared to compete without Paleo! Of course it wasn’t easy, but it makes you take more pride in your results! Thank you, Britt, for putting this together for a little boost before our competition and the open!
